Alabama Bartending Jobs

There’s a growing need for bartenders all across the country and Alabama is no exception. Looking through the want ads just about any day will show you the growing need for bartenders.

Hotels, nightclubs, restaurants and bars all need quality bartenders. Both locally owned and nation-wide businesses share this need. Many of these businesses want experienced, certified bartenders, but there are plenty of places that are willing to train the right person. Some places actually prefer to train their employees. In-house training helps insure the employees do things the “company way”.

The availability of flexible schedules makes bartending an ideal job for many people. College students find this flexibility a necessity when trying to work around their school schedule. Others just like knowing they can work the hours they find convenient.

The hourly wage may not seem like much, but this is a prime example of appearances being deceiving. The earning potential from tips is only limited by the bartender’s abilities. It’s not uncommon for bartenders to make $200-$300 or more during a shift. People appreciate being made to feel special. They enjoy entertainment. And they show their appreciation in monetary ways. They leave tips. TIPS originally meant “to insure proper service”. Now it’s also an expression of appreciation for service above what’s commonly expected. Remember those that tip well and they will continue to do so.

A good bartending school will help you learn the trade quicker than trying to learn it on your own, but isn’t always necessary. You’ll be taught how to make lots of common and not so common drinks. A bartending school will also provide you with other tips and tricks to improve your skill which will improve your income. This knowledge helps make you a better bartender.

Some of the Alabama bartending jobs are seasonal. This makes it the perfect job for those people that are only interested in temporary positions. Students home from school for the summer find bartending a great opportunity. They get the chance to earn extra money, have fun and meet new people at the same time.
